hi there frank! as usual i must be confused but i understood that the picture that i found was of the foundations of the old inn with the new inn in the fore ground? also the builder lakon, archadia etc.(old chestnut!) have informed me that they are beside each other with shared faciliities? please advise me frank, as i believe that your development is nearby... cheers john

Hi John, Sorry for the confusion (mine, that is) :oops: . The foundation in the foreground will be indeed the Old Inn and in the background is the New Inn (on pictures 4 and 5 of your link). The New Inn is indeed "older" than the Old Inn. I looked at the wrong picture when I made my comment. My fault. Excuse me. And yes, on pictures 4 and 5 you can see the roof of Pirin Lodge behind the trees. We are close by. Frank

If that is the case then they have changed the location of the Old Inn. I went out there last year and they showed me both sites, Old Inn was supposed to be on some land behind gondola on the way into town and no way you could see New Inn from there. Maybe person showing me around got it wrong, or they decided to move the location as build had not started when I was there.

Hi everybody - where have you all gone. Does anybody know the latest news regading the New Inn as it was supposed to be finished last week but I have heard absolutely nothing from Lakon. Maybe they will blame the summer weather for being too hot this time! I really do think we should get some penalty payments for the late completion -what do you all think - or more importantly what do your solicitors think?

I've not heard anything. I wasn't going to bother looking at any penalties at this stage as its only a bit after september, and Katia (Lakon) said it may be a while after september by the time they request last payment, arrange transfers etc. I'm sure they are still running late though. By the way, the issue of the swimming pool arose again (on Prespa thread) so probably worth transfering it to this thread. Johnc heard new inn will have joint use of Old Inns pool in an outbuilding (initially I had thought old inn was in a completely different location). I emailed Katia for clarification on this and on completion dates but still awaiting response. I don't know if anyone else knows anything about it from there agents.

For anyone who's interested, got this back from my agent re pool: I just spoke with the developer of New Inn - Lakon - and confirm that there will a separate spa building containing a pool to be shared by New inn and Old Inn. Construction of the spa building will start in Spring 2007 and be completed for the 2007/2008 ski season.

hi guys, yeah this is the info i got also from Katia, so heres hoping that it works out like this!! i guess if their telling a lot of people this it may be true! also if look on my link abnout prespa i think the facts are correct and that whilst the old and new inn are by diff companies their are some comoon links, of course the next question is paying for use etc.... and so it goes on... cheers guys!

I haven't - it seems a little strange. You would have thought that they would have sent all the e-mails out at the same time.

:? I have been informed by Lakon that my apartment is ready. I found some up to date photos on Balkan Ski chalets website which states that only sections C and D are complete and that A and B shouldbe ready in about 3 weeks.

That explains why I have not heard from Lakon - mine is in A Block. I wonder what the excuse is for the delay this time. I suppose that means that rentals for this winter are out as it will be far too late to market it with the start of the season just weeks away. I really think we should all hold Lakon to the penalty payments which they themselves wrote into the contract as we will be out of pocket by hundreds of pounds by missing this winter season's rentals. Any thoughts?

It looks more like a communist apartment block with a nice roof. And where do I park my Trabant? The car park is a load of rubble. There seems an awful amount of work to do before you could ever rent this out!

That was my concern - blocks C and D may well be "complete" but it is not much use if the rest of the complex is incomplete - it is simply not rentable. Imagine the complaints - justifiably!! Feeling a little uneasy as they are now asking what my intentions are - I took the payment plan to pay 6 months after completion - but presumably this means I could not occupy or rent until after that 6 month period??? Any ideas. ?? The contract appears to give them a get out on all fronts for these delays - crunch time for completion was really end of November from my interpreation, which is why I guess they are getting article 15 in now, but I am far from convonced this complex is complete and have concerns over water supply from reading posts on the forum for other new developments. I do feel better knowing I am not alone though!!!

I emailed Lakon and said I wanted to see the latest photos of the building and my apartment before I would pay as I was concerned about the photos from a month ago with it looking like a prison block. They said they'd send them monday. As far as I am concerned it's not completed if they have not put all the cladding on or whatever they have to do to make it look like the picture. I'll wait and see what the photos they send me look like (though as ones from balkanskichalet site are from 21 oct I guess it will be same) and if they are the same I'll query when they are finishing the outside. If they are not doing anymore to the outside its a blatant rip-off as thats obviously going to be a huge amount of cash they were going to spend but are now not going to. I've got a solicitor as well so, depending on what lakon come back with, I'll get her to query it as well.
